Ramin set up DEM Productions in 2011 as a vehicle for his productions at Oxford University. His producing includes Laclos's Dangerous Liaisons at the Oxford Playhouse, Euripides' Children of Oedipus at the Keble O'Reilly, and Bug by Tracy Letts at the Burton Taylor Studios. His directing includes Kander & Ebb's classic musical Cabaret, William Golding's Lord of the Flies, a new adaptation of Aeschylus' Oresteia and The Tea Party, both of which he wrote. He regularly gives support and advice to a large number of productions.
Davina joined DEM Productions in 2012 and will become Co-Artistic Director of DEM's London theatre in 2014. Her directing experience includes Antigone, Six Characters in Search of an Author, and Arturo Ui. She has worked with the Yvonne Arnaud theatre and been a technical manager at the National Student Drama Festival. She was an administrator at the LGB rights charity, Stonewall, and is currently the Theatre Editor for The Cambridge Student newspaper.
Illias joined DEM Productions in 2011. With the company he has directed Bug by Tracy Letts at the Burton Taylor studio, and has been the Musical Director for Cabaret and Associate Producer for Dangerous Liaisons. His previous directing experience includes Peter Morgan's Frost/Nixon. He has acted in and been musical director for a number of other productions. He is currently the organ scholar at Balliol College and sings with the Out of the Blue a capella group. He intends to direct a new production of Tennessee Williams's 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof'.
Christina joined DEM Productions in 2011 to direct her own adaptation of Laclos's Dangerous Liaisons at the Oxford Playhouse. Her previous directing experience includes her own adaptations of Waugh's Brideshead Revisited, Solzhenitsyn's One Day in the Life of Ivan Denosovitch, and Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Associate Film Director
Alexander joined DEM Productions in 2011 to co-produce Cabaret. He also produced his own play The Blind Spot, which DEM supported, and directed the trailer for Bug. He has written, directed and produced several short films, of which one was runner up to a BAFTA screen skills bursary for £3000 for best screenwriting. In 2011 he took part in the Studio Programme, at the Royal Court Theatre in London, taught by Leo Butler. Prior to this he graduated from the Young Writers Programme at the Lyric Theatre in London, taught by Simon Stephens. Alexander has written three full length plays, The Blind Spot, Fourth Movement and Records, which have received readings at a number of theatres across London.
Caitlin joined DEM Productions in 2011 to star as Jocasta in Children of Oedipus. She has performed in a wide range of plays and musicals in Oxford including Rent, Troilus & Cressida, and The Royal Hunt of the Sun, as well as in Machinal the OUDS Summer Tour at the Edinburgh Fringe. She also directed Dennis Potter's Blue Remembered Hills. She has performed in a number of musicals outside of Oxford, including My Fair Lady with the Preston Musical Comedy Society, and Oliver! with the Lytham Academy of Theatre Arts. In the summer of 2010 she did a course with the prestigious British American Drama Academy.
Emily joined DEM Productions in 2012 as the choreographer for the musical Cabaret. Since then she has choreographed and co-directed Stravinsky's A Soldier's Tale and is preparing the development of her own dance production for next year, with the Dream Again Dance Company, of which she is Artistic Director and co-founder. She has performed in a number of contemporary shows including Tamlane and The Barefaced Night as well as several musicals outside of Oxford including 42nd Street and South Pacific. Prior to university Emily danced competitively at national level for many years. Next year she aims to be doing a Masters in Choreography.
Associate Lighting Designer
Edward joined DEM Productions in 2012 as the Lighting Designer for Dangerous Liaisons at the Oxford Playhouse. He has designed the lighting for over twenty plays, including, in Oxford, Clytemnestra, The Blind Spot, Out Through the In Door, After the Dance, Bug, and Closer. In London he has designed the lighting for productions in the Et Cetera Theatre in Camden and the Tristan Bates theatre in Covent Garden. Next year he is designing the lighting for Angels in America at the Oxford Playhouse.
Alice joined DEM Productions in 2012 to star as the Marquise de Merteuil in Dangerous Liaisons at the Oxford Playhouse. She has performed in a number of plays including Pride and Prejudice, Much Ado About Nothing, The Man Upstairs and Lars Sorken: A Norwegian Noir. As an active member of the National Youth Theatre she has filmed with them on one of their projects. She is about to star in a production of Dennis Kelly's Orphans.
